Kings Canyon, Red Centre

Known for its soaring sandstone cliffs, Kings Canyon offers a variety of walking trails, the most popular of which traces the rim of the canyon passing a maze of windswept sandstone domes. The one-hour walk that follows Kings Creek at the bottom gives you the opportunity to view the towering--over 100 m (328 ft) high--canyon walls from below. Take a guided tour to learn more about the area's wildlife and the Luritja Aboriginal people, who have resided here for more than 20,000 years. Note that when the weather gets too hot, some of the trails can be fully or partially closed off.
