Barnbougle Dunes, Bridport

4.4
#1 of 9 in Golf in Tasmania
The jewel of the northeastern coast of Tasmania, Barnbougle Dunes is considered one of the world’s premier golf courses. Architects Tom Doak and Mike Clayton designed the 18-hole championship layout, setting the course on 81 hectares (200 acres) of undulating sand dunes that overlook Bass Strait. The layout is not long, but can be challenging to inexperienced players when the wind is blowing hard, which is often the case in this part of Tasmania. The site also includes 22 accommodation villas, a restaurant, and a conference facility perched on the dunes. Golf lover or not, enjoy a sunny day outdoors, and be sure to stop by the clubhouse for a refreshing drink after each round.
